Role Summary:

Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance Visit Planning: Prepare for assigned tasks by ensuring that all necessary tools and service kits are loaded onto the works van, and communicate with the office for any additional supplies as needed.

  • Customer Service: Maintain a professional relationship with clients and their staff, acting as a representative of the company. Accountability for personal conduct is essential.

  • Maintenance Work: Perform all maintenance and repair duties thoroughly and safely, following provided service instructions. Properly label and return system items removed from client premises.

  • Uniform Standards: Ensure that company-branded clothing and suitable PPE are worn at all times, maintaining a high standard of dress.

  • Paperwork Completion: Ensure all job-related paperwork, whether physical or digital, is properly completed and submitted promptly to the office.

  • Call-Out Duties: During scheduled call-out periods, respond promptly to incoming calls, keep the phone on, and ensure no other commitments interfere. Notify the office of any potential conflicts immediately.

  • Service Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain the allocated vehicle in good condition, perform daily and weekly checks, and submit completed check sheets on time. Drive responsibly, adhering to all road regulations, and notify the office if unfit to drive.

  • Equipment Maintenance: Regularly check and maintain all work equipment, including ladders, PAT testing, calibrations, and pre-use checks.

  • Purchasing Responsibilities: Use the company credit card strictly for work-related purchases, and maintain all necessary receipts and paperwork for finance department records.

  • Training and Development: Complete assigned training within the designated timeframe. Ensure all required competency cards, such as CSCS, are up to date.

  • Communication: Respond promptly to communications from colleagues and ensure important information is relayed efficiently.

  • Workshop, Stores, and Yard: Use workshop equipment only if trained and authorised, ensuring PPE is worn. Keep work areas clean and tidy and notify the stores team about stock usage.

  • QHSE Compliance: Follow all company policies related to Quality, Health, Safety, Welfare, and Environment. Report any incidents, near misses, or health and safety concerns to the QHSE department immediately.

The Candidate:

  • Water Mist Suppression Systems: Strong understanding of water mist fire suppression systems and familiarity with the broader fire prevention industry.

  • Technical Skills: Previous experience in a similar field engineer role, with the technical capability to pass manufacturer training for maintenance and repairs. Alternatively, relevant technical qualifications are acceptable. Candidates with electrical expertise should hold at least a Level 3 qualification and, ideally, the 18th Edition certification.
